Waiting....

Ultrasound countdown.... 8 days!!! I really want to see my baby. Its hard to believe how fast the time goes by. I have been checking out websites that show ultrasound pics so you can get use to seeing how they look and what is what.

Other news, Lent begins tomorrow. I will be taking a year of fallow, as suggested by Corene. We all need time to regrow, and with this pregnancy I couldnt agree more. A little slugglish today. Blah.

So I have offically joined the Worship Committee. I really am excited to be part of this group. So besides teaching Sunday School and helping on the Ladies Committee, I should be pretty busy. This Easter the theme is going to revolve around Narnia!!! Oh, I am soooooooooooo excited!!!! Will post events as they occur.

Made the first trip to the post office yesterday. Ugh, I really am frusterated that this is going to be a daily event until our mail boxes are replaced. I don't mind the walk but there are so many that won't be home by the post office hours so how do they get their mail? We would have been some of those people if I wasn't at home now. Sigh. Speaking of which, I better go get our mail.

Can't wait till 2010!

Wow, did Canada do well at the Olympics or what! 24 Medals!!! I think the greatest moment was watching the flag being given to the mayor of Vancouver. The whole family was watching that moment and I don't think any of us will forget it anytime soon. Very emotional, especially when you know the story of how he came to be in a wheel chair.

The closing ceremonies were pretty good, many things to poke fun at, including our Canadian presention. Heheh. We like to continue the stereotypes. Can you imagine the world's reaction when they come in 2010, where are the igloos?

In other news, this weekend some of the family were in town. It was nice to visit as it has been several months since they were here. Aunt Penny kept teasing that my pregnancy has been so bad because I was a rotten kid. LOL. Thanks! Thats family love, feel the warm fuzzies! We had another birthday for Mike. He liked the card we made him, no one else got it. Gotta love inside jokes. "I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!"

Ken and I also got to see Mike's new place. Its very cute, and not bad for Richmond. Hehe. Sorry, Ladner girl here. Right now you can tell its a guy living there, but am looking forward to the touches by Jo once she moves in after the wedding in August. Yay.

Today is a pretty mellow day, have a meeting at noon, we get to test desserts for the ladies tea, oh such hard work I know! Not sure when Ken is coming home, he has been doing so many late nights its crazy. Poor thing.

In sad news, our favorite fish and chip place closed this past sunday. WAHHHHHH! The couple retired and that is the end of Uncle Herberts. Sigh.... we are gonna need to go to Steveston for our fish now. Blah.

Mid-week review

Booooooooo, head aches! Not sure why I have been waking up with them, not cool. Then I got hiccups, ick. Both are signs of being sick, nooooooooooo. Must fight it.

Last night was Bible study at Walt and Wendy's. It was nice to see everyone, missed a few do to my constant sickness, so it was good just to be there. Abby, their youngest was flying like a kite. We have her in our sunday school class and I don't think I have ever seen her like this. Hehe. She was pointing to my belly telling everyone one there was a baby inside. Too cute.

Came home and watched the episode of Amercian Idol we missed while out. The first gal came out and sang the Heart song "Never." This caused a huge debate why we didn't have Heart's greatest hits cd in our collection. This happened last year too when Carrie Underwood sang "Alone." Gosh, I love them!!! Ken's into the 70's stuff they did while 80's was more me, so its a good group for us. LOL

"We can’t go on... Just running away... If we stay any longer... We will surely never get away..."

MUST GET HEART CD!

Oscar Party is happening again! Woot. Might not vote this year since Ken and I took first and second last year. Some people were hitting us for information at church on sunday, that was pretty funny. This year I am looking forward to the dinner, as steak is one of baby's favs right now.

Been cross stitching a lot the past few days. I started the one for the baby's room. Hee. I sure missed stitching. I haven't been able to for at least 4 months. Ugh. Its moving along very well too.

I guess I should get my day started.

Out on the town

Last night we had 2 parties to attend, thats right 2. For a quiet month of February, what are the chances of 2 parties being planned for the same night?

So at 4pm we arrived at the Funk's place and had a fun hour and half of chatting and snacking. It was the celebration for the capital campaign for the new ministry centre at the church. It was nice to hang with the families of our church. We felt bad we had to bail out so early but we had made plans before this event was booked. Feels nice to be popular. Hehe.

We then headed to Jo's parent's house. They were celebrating my brother's 25th birthday. Next weekend our family will have another dinner for him on his real b-day. SPOILED!!! heheh.
I had the chance when dress shopping to meet some of the other family members but it was a first for Ken and the rest of the gang. We had a great time chatting up hollywood with Julie. The kids were doing drawing competions and Mrs. Hacker made a lovely meal. Yum.

Mike got himself a new ipod from Jo, apprently he knew already, BOOO. She took his old one, nice move. Dad gave him some tools, Mikey and home repair, I'd watch that show. He also got a nice cooking pan of sorts. I guess he liked the one Jo's mom uses. We are planning on giving our gift next weekend, has to have something then.

Today has been pretty slow. I am a little groggy today. Been watching the olympic coverage, go Canada! Planning to sew a bit later today, make a nice dinner for Kenny and try and finish cleaning the house. I got alot done last week, no more piles around the house. YAY.

Other news, found a place that we could pay to get a 3D ultrasound done. Very cool! It would be a wonderful keepsake. Plus we get a DVD copy and it be great to send that to the family in Michigan.

Ok, back to the olympics!

Whap, whap, whap

Thats what we finally heard today at the doctors office. At 16 weeks baby was finally letting us get a listen. The funny thing was it did exactly what we assume it did last time, when we were unable to hear it. We found it right away but as quick as we did it moved as if saying, "quit poking me." Sounds like my kid.

It was very exciting and it finally hit me in the car when I finally started crying. I wanted to hear it so badly to know everything was ok, and finally got my wish. Ken seemed pretty proud and glowed.

We also got our ultrasound booked for March 8th. Woot. Visual image of baby!!!!!!!!!!! Ken was scheduled to be away in March the following week so it was good news to hear he can be here for the big day.

Other news, still on the pills. Doctor thinks I will need them for the whole pregnancy. Blah. Also went to the maternity clothing store and spent Ken's money. Hehe. Got some great things so I am very happy and will look very cute!

Nice Quiet Evening

After the terrible Monday sickness, we decided that we would hold off on the uber cool dinner I was going to make my sweetie. I was feeling better yesterday but not strong enough to stand in a hot kitchen for that long. So, we decided on a heart shaped pizza from Boston Pizza. Huzzah, cute, tasty and romantic.

Ken called at 5pm when we was leaving the school and said he be home with dinner as soon as possible. At 645pm there was a knock at the door and this is what awaited me....

A beautiful arrangement of roses, a heart shaped pizza, a starter of mushroom caps (my fav) and a big piece of chocolate mousse cake. Ohhhh, man! For a gal who had eatten nothing but toast and fruit most of the day, it was like some commercial on tv that would spur cravings for hours. I of course couldn't eat as much as I would have liked to, with the tummy still sensitive, but I got a good taste of everything and it was enough to make me happy and full.

We watched american idol and then headed to bed as I was fading fast. Watched the best romantic 80's movie, "Say Anything", yet I was asleep before even half the movie was done. Overall, it was a wonderful valentines day, and we enjoyed each other's company. After many nights of Ken hard at work on his book, I almost forgot what he looked like. Hehe. But in general, his card said it all. He wrote, 'this is our last valentines alone... better make it count'.

I love you Ken, thank you for all you do for me and the coming baby. You are a blessing.

Just when you think you are out of the woods...

So far, I have been sick more times than I have been in weeks!!! Yesterday was wonderful, getting out and it seemed things were returning to normal.... no so I guess.

At this point I can't keep the pills down that stop the sick, so that means no food today.... argh

I was planning a wonderful dinner for my hubby for valentines but sadly I really don't see it happening unless I make an amazing recovery.

I am upset, angry and disappointed, but I just really want to be finished this phase so I can enjoy pregnancy.... I am losing faith that will happen.

I love you baby, but you make mommy sick!

No, its not an alien Charlie Brown!

This week I experienced some strange activity in my belly region. Strange little flutters that I was pretty sure was hunger or gas related. After checking my book, turns out that the little person who is camped out in my uterus has started moving. Crazy!!!

Its happening a lot more which makes me assume I will have a pretty active kid on my hands come August. Hehe. Its kinda funny to be sitting on the couch relaxing and then go to walk up the stairs and bang, someone is awake. When I met Nana and Papa for dinner last night, baby was awake, must have sensed great-grandparents.

Around 830, the baby was going nuts. Ken rubbed my belly for a bit and that seemed to settle the little hyper one down. I told Ken it knows daddy. That got a big smile, hee. He then proceeded to talk to it for awhile as we watched the olmypics opening ceremony. Its hard to believe when the 2010 games happen here that this bump will be a toddler. Whoa.

Unwritten

I am unwritten
Can't read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
The pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is...where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

I break tradition
Sometimes my tries are outside the lines
We've been conditioned to not make mistakes
But I can't live that way

Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is...where your book begins

Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is...where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten
