Whose Line is it Anyways..... yes it did air!

I'm sure many of you have seen the clip of Richard Simmons who was a guest on Whose Line is it Anyways? Needless to say if you haven't, please click this link to see it. (It will open in media player)

Now, the question has always been, did this really air??? Could it be on family tv, because it kinda is... well... its a little over the top, especially since it is pushed as a family show. I think the other thing that comes to mind is that it is a totally different Richard Simmons than your use to seeing. He usually is crying and hugging, not being... over the top.

Anyhoo, I have shared this clip with people and we all agree that it must have been cut from the orginal show and leaked to the internet. Well, last night in our hotel room we were watching the ABC family channel (different from regular ABC, this channel plays nothing but family aimmed shows.) So whose line comes on and in every game they have either someone acting like Richard Simmons etc. Ken says, this has to be that episode that clip is from. Then they bring Richard out for the singing game and Wayne Brady has to sing a disco song about him. I then say, they must have shot a few different things with him, because even that seemed a bit over the top but nothing like the above clip. Well, we were WRONG!!! After the commercial they air THAT CLIP!!! We were laughing so hard, mostly out of shock that it really did air on tv, on a family station no less!

So, the question has been answered... the year 2005 can now come to a close. Heheh.

Hollywood Jesus Gathering Begins!

We just got back from the opening night at the Hollywood Jesus gathering. It was awesome to finally meet these people who you write to. It makes it all seem more real, wow. It has been kinda like an internet relationship, and finding out they aren't creepy old men. LOL.

It was fantastic to meet David Bruce, the man behind the website and the person who got the group of us together. He opened the gathering with a talk about how the website was started in 1997. It was so interesting to hear him speak, as a former pastor, and his new found role in sharing the word through media like movies, tv and comics.

Looking forward to the rest of the weekend, and very glad we came. We are crashing early tonight since we were driving all day and I am pretty beat. Tomorrow there are lots of interesting talks so I want to be well rested. Ohh, I think thats room service with my chicken burger, later!

We are in Renton...huzzah

So we left the house at 930am this morning and packed up the Tank (car). We dropped off the keys for Kara, got some gas, dropped off the video rental and said goodbye to Nana and Papa. Then we were off on the road. Good weather for driving. Got to the boarder in about 30 minutes but then sat in the line ups for about an hour, ugh.

Saw a really funny sign saying the men's bathroom was closed for winter, heheh. We listened to my mix cd as we waited and time just flew by. We Finally get to the guard and he is like, where are you going, Renton, oh you live in Canada, where...., Ladner.....where? in Delta.....where? I finally say BC and he clues in, sigh!

We drive to Bellingham and grab some grub at the KFC / A&W. Ah yes, the fastfood chains here like to gang up on you. The first thing I notice is the fact there are none of the less fattening options that the Canadian ones offer. No side salads, not even the classic chicken burger, which is less batter, nope, just the triple dipped and fried stuff, ugh. I had a chilli dog, it seemed like the most less threatening thing.

As we continue on the weather holds until Seattle when the rain starts. Not bad rain, not like the one time where we couldn't even see the road it was coming down so hard. It lasted till the turn off for Renton and then we arrived. We checked in and went to the resturant for a small snack / dinner. The size of Ken's pot pie was freaky! Thats not a normal size! It was a mutant pie. But, the food was good and the help was friendly so it was nice.

Now we are heading to the opening of the Hollywood Jesus event. Woot. So check back for updates on our adventures here.

Girls Night Out....in Ladner

So last night was the girls night out. The high school gang got together since Julie was in town and Christy moved back to town, so why not have dinner out! Well, we ate, Ann picked at her salad and didn't even touch her soda, BLAH! Hehehe. So we chatted for a few hours and then headed back to Julie's parents house. Which was filled with many of her sisters and their families. Full House! I won't even say what Julie's dad did, LOL. The fact the ones who were there know is good enough. Hehehe.

So we hung out and left at midnight, which was surprising, I can't believe how fast time flies when we are chatting. Christy gave me a ride home since Ken took the car to see the 3 hour King Kong with Mike and Toby. Twas a great night and it was great to see the girls.

Happy Birthday Jesus!

So Christmas was fun and different this year. Sorta changed things around with it falling on a sunday but it all came together well.

Ken and I were up early to do the morning present call to Michigan, much to our surprise, Jonathan had decided a new routine this year so they called us back in 30 minutes, hehe. In the meantime, I had my lovely morning sickness and we did our stockings. I got a good haul of chocolate which I am sure will come in handy being pregnant. Ken always finds what I call the mommy chocolates. I got them every year and I can't wait to put them in my kids stockings. Also got magazines, cds and some crafty things.

We then did our presents for each other. I got Ken the complete collection of Calvin and Hobbes. Woot. He was excited! He got me a lovely necklace of a white gold heart with a tiny gold heart on the inside, both with tiny little diamonds on each. Very symbolic as usual with Ken. Thank you sweetie! Also got the best and worst of american idol dvd. I think Ken just wanted to watch the bad singers over and over. Heheh.

All dressed we headed to church, and there were maybe about 25-30 people. Not the usual crowd but it was lovely. Pastor Dave wheeled out a cake and we had a birthday party for Jesus, complete with noise makers and balloons (Ken managed to pop his). Dave then read this "letter" about how Jesus might feel when we celebrate Christmas without him. It totally got to me and I remember when Mike and I were young how mom always had a birthday cake for Jesus. Something I plan on doing from now on.

The afternoon was a rest time, and we watched some of the dvds and called Grandpa Priebe and Ken's dad called us. We then loaded up the gifts for the family in the laundry basket and went to Nana's.

Dinner was great (what I did eat of it) and Dad made a very impressive Coconut cream pie for dessert. Mike and Jo arrived from her family's place and we started the gifts. I was pretty tired at this point but pulled it together as much as I could. Mike and Jo got me the season 4 Macgyver set! SCORE! Heheh. Dad and Rita gave me a martha cookbook, sheltie calander and gift card to Linens and Things, the happiest place on earth. Woot. Nana and Papa got me some fuzzy socks (my new love) a huge bucket of gel pens, a wooden turtle puzzle (I think its for the baby but I plan to play with it too) and my long awaited ironing board! Yay!

We all chatted a bit more and then started to all fizzle, it had been a crazy, long day. Ken and I loaded up the car and came home. Got into bed and watched some Macgyver, Merry Christmas indeed!

Christmas Eve!

Its finally here! It sure came fast, maybe cuz I have been too sick to notice. Hehe. Anyhoo, its an exciting day. Ken is home and we are going to take care of some last minute stuff and just relax. Tonight is church, Kara is dancing. Yay. Then we will come home, watch a movie, eat snacks and stuff each other's christmas stockings. Usually we end up opening them right after midnight cuz we are totally brats! But then it is so much easier to sleep having a little something to open.

This year christmas is on a sunday, very cool. So we will be off to church in the morning. Pastor Dave was glad to hear at least a few of us would show up. Hehe. I most likely will be resting the remainder of the day so that I will be awake and perky for dinner and gifts with the family.

Now for some wacky fun stuff. Here are some odd and cute christmas web things. Enjoy!

The Snow Dog Card - Very cute and sweet

Penguin Baseball - Try and hit a penguin as far as you can! A good time waster!

Chin Carols - This one is just creepy. Type in a christmas carol and the chins sing it.

Holiday Snowglobe - A Personal favorite, just because its sooooooo weird and funny.

8 Weeks

Today was our first meeting with the doctor who will be doing all my pregnacy exams and such. Ken came along which was great and we basically did the rundown of family medical history. No major exams or tests. Just tried to keep from barfing on the doctor. Heheh. Our next appointment is on January 19th and a heartbeat will be heard! YAY!

Afterwards we met up with the family at Ricky's Resturant and I had an awesome benny! yum. Mike is offically finished school, wow. So there is a planning of the party for January. I'm glad we are waiting till December is over, its nuts enough as it is.

We were to be going out tonight but that was cancelled due to the flu bug floating around that home. Something I'd like to avoid! So, a quiet night with Kenny is perfect. He wrapped all my gifts last night so I have something to shake under the tree! I can't believe that sunday is christmas!!! I have to finish a last minute ornie that I totally forgot about and feel terrible about. UGH! So I need to try and bear cross stitching when sick. Should be interesting.

Ken's mom emailed today, and wants to buy us a crib! So thats very cool! The problem is finding some place like they have in the states. She wants to get one of those fancy fine wood ones. I guess we will go out in the new year and search for a place we can tell her about. If anyone knows of a good place let me know. I personally would love a crib that turns into a toddler bed. I think thats practical... but thats just me.

Christmas Tree and Cheese!

So here is our christmas tree, as promised. Isn't it beautiful! I love the look of the white lights, so magical. I would also like to point out the presents under the tree. I was so thankful I got all my shopping done and wrapped before we left for Michigan. Once returning I started getting very tired and sick. A very big blessing in my books!

Yesterday was the Church's kids christmas concert. Oh it was very good, the music was wonderful and the drama was funny. I give a hand to my hubby for directing the drama portion. Huzzah! The past few weeks without him to help in sunday school were hard, but seeing his handy work in the play, it was worth it. My class did so well saying their lines! Kindergarten kids can do no wrong! They are just so cute!

We had dinner at Nana's since there was a family friend in town and the main discover of that meal was that pork is not my friend. Yes I put a piece in my mouth and bearly got it down. Blah! So I will add pork to the list of foods I do not like in this pregnacy. LOL.

Now for some cheese. This thursday marks and annual Ed the sock Fromage show!!! I have gone to muchmusic to vote! However, we are booked at someone's place for dessert so we will be taping it and watching when we get home. If you have never seen it, basically its Ed making fun of the years worst videos. In my personal opinion, the best show was the worst videos of all time because it was the big y2k year! But, there is always something to laugh at. Its not offically christmas without Ed the sock! Heheh.

Why pregnant, hungry women shouldn't watch late night tv!

Ok, tonight while Ken was out teaching, I ended up watching some tv and fell across a show on the travel channel or something. Anyhoo, it was entitled, the best places to pig out!

At first I figured, ok, its like the best places to eat. No, no, no! I was quickly corrected. It is indeed places to PIG OUT. Here is the list of the top 10!

Needless to say I found myself getting more hungry then I already was. Then in my head trying to figure out how I would make it to all these places in the states to indeed have some of the huge food platters they were serving. How sad is that! Sure I am indeed with child, but I have never been one to think sooooo much about food. I think my morning sickness is brought on by the fact I can't believe how hungry I get.

I'm sure the massive amount of exercise I got today didn't help either, just made my tummy cry out for more. Mostly I find I am craving fruit, thank goodness. So at least my eating is of a healthy nature. However, watching the food before me on the tv had my mouth watering as I saw the piles of pancakes. Oooh, I think I want pancakes tomorrow.

Besides my crazy cravings, the show itself was very entertaining. The contests of people trying to eat these huge portions was extremely funny and sick at the same time. 5 pounds of pancakes! 12 egg omelets! 8 patties of meat in one burger! Pizza the size of table. Good grief.

In other news, the christmas cards are almost ready to go out in the mail! Yay! A little later than I had hoped but since I had deadlines for my work projects this week there was nothing I could do. I also need to finish wrapping a few more gifts. I should take some pics to post of our awesome christmas tree. Its so cute! I got new lights this year and I love them!

My Christmas is Most Like What Movie?

Your Christmas is Most Like: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Each year, you really get into the spirit of Christmas.
Which is much more important to you than nifty presents.

I actually believe that! I always has a soft spot for that sad little tree they bought. Plus the whole scene with Linus at the end on stage is really special and one of those fantastic moments in tv history... well in my opinion. Plus, honestly people, who wouldn't want to dance like those kids do. Heheh.

Baby vs. Jay

Well I had quite a rough weekend to say the least. I think the tide is finally turning and it makes me very happy. Not to mention sighing of relief!

Saturday night, Ken and I had to make a visit to the ER at Delta Hospital due to a brief blood spotting. Needless to say we both freaked, and thus were at the ER for 2.5 hours. The spotting stopped about as quickly as it had started, so that made me relax a bit.

Sunday, I taugh my sunday school class then came home to sleep. I had a terrible headache and ended up missing the Champions party. BOOOOOOO. I did get a lovely plate of goodies to make up for it. Yay!

So today I saw my doctor and she reassured me that my numbers for my HCG level was right were it should be for 6 weeks and no sign of problems. Thank the Lord! However, I was told to continue bedrest and slowly return to my regular routine. If it starts again, back to bed. I'm really hoping things go smoothly, so lots of prayer is good.

In other news I officially started "tossing my cookies" this morning. Yay! As gross as it is, and I'm sorry if its too much info, but I can't tell you how great it feels. I have been so sick and just wanting to let it get out and finally I did, twice! Ken was still home and was so loving and supportive. I love my boy so much!

Tonight he is bringing home chicken so I don't have to cook. I think I will be pulling out the slow cooker for the next few weeks while I feel sick.

As I count down the days till christmas, part of my counting is for my prenatal visit on the 22nd. I am hoping to hear the heartbeat and be calmed that much more. Through all the frightening moments, I didn't loose sight of the fact that I want this baby so bady. We have waited so long and I will do everything I can to help it grow safely in my belly.

Tis the season to be joyful, and I sure am!

My head is melting....

So, this is what morning sickness feels like! Two words - NOT COOL!

I haven't been throwing up or anything but gosh do I feel like I want to. I almost wish I could. Last night I discovered that baby doesn't like some of my favorite foods. BOOOOO. Needless to say, without grossing out everyone, I spent much of my night in the bathroom and on the couch with a fever and the shakes. I woke up at midnight and managed to crawl up to bed to sleep the rest of the night. This morning I feel like mashed potatoes, and I am sure I look equally as frightening.

I managed to eat a bagel with peanut butter and jam, and later a few crackers with cheese. That seems to be good so far. I will dive into my fruit drawer later and maybe a salad too. yum.

I went to the library this morning to look for some books for Ken. He needs them for his book research. While there I found a book on dreamweaver and I think I might give that a try if I feel better next week. As for the next few days I am trying to finish the work for Hans. Shouldn't take too long, I just need to feel like I can look at the computer for over an hour without passing out.

Also, must clean house!!! I say, the moment I get sick the place becomes a trash dump! The dishes are all over the house and there are several piles of junk that need to be dealt with. With people coming over tonight, I kinda want to get things looking better.

Ok, I am gonna clean, rest, work, rest, eat and did I say rest?

5 Weeks

So I am offical 5 weeks pregnant, according to my doctor. How Exciting, its so weird and strange knowing this is finally happening!!! Ken is just glowing and so full of joy. We decided that telling people, even though its early, was the way we wanted to do it. If something did happen, we would want the support from all our friends. So needless to say, its all over town, thanks to the future great grandma!

This weekend was full of activities, friday starting with the coffee party at my place. It sure helped me get motivated to get my christmas stuff up. I love my tree this year, we bought some white lights and oh its gorgous!

Saturday was Mike and Jo's engagement party! We got to meet the members of her family which was great. It was also announced that Ken and I are both in the bridal party. WHEE! I am so excited, I have waited forever to be a bridesmaid. I will be a post pregnacy one but I don't care! My biggest concern at the moment is getting a dress that will work with a pregnant body. I'm due a few weeks before the wedding but I highly doubt I will shead much weight in such little time. So searching for an dress we can work with.

Sunday, went to church and we overwhelmed with the love, support and excitement from our church family! I can't imagine doing this with out all of them cheering us on. Its like lots of extra aunts and uncles. I told our sunday school class, that was pretty funny. One of the little boys put his hand on his hip and said, "I don't believe you." I laughed and said you will believe it in a few months when my tummy gets big.

Then after church Ken surprised me with my early christmas present. Tickets to the stage show of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which was playing downtown. So we grabbed some lunch and went to the afternoon show. It was wonderful!!!!! I miss going to the theater more often.

We got back into town and headed to our Bible study's group potluck dinner. Oh, such yummy food! We had a riot with funny games and a white elephant gift exchange. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time. After such a busy day I was ready to fall into bed. Had a good sleep and I am heading to costco today, woot. Ah the joys of a pregnant gal!

Trip Recap!

So we returned late Monday night, very late.... too late in my opinion. oh where do i start... we arrived after midnight, we should have been home at 530pm, so you know there is a story there. we got to detroit airport early and everything was fine until 10 mins before our flight was to arrive they announced that chicago was having high winds and that the plane hadn't taken off yet. eek. we had a connection there at 245 and they said we should arrive hopefully at 230 giving us 15 mins to run to the gate. well it was a bumpy flight and by the time we arrived it was 3pm and our plane was gone. argh! the nice airline people moved us to the next fight.....at 830Pm!!!! so that meant we had to wait in the airport for 5 and a half hours. sooooooooooooooooo not cool! they didn't even have a gate number for us until 6pm so we found a gate with some free seats (let me say it was uber packed anyways and i could have been sitting on the floor)

needless to say we weren't the only people not getting on flights. we sat
in the new york gate and ate our pizza while angry new yorkers yelled at the airline people that they weren't on the stand by list or something. it was entertaining to say the least. ken decided to make the best of sitting and worked on his book. i however was getting cabin fever so i walked around a lot, read almost every new magazine until i couldn't stand anymore. watched some movies on our portable dvd player and tried to sleep at points.

at 6 we finally got our gate number and headed there to sit. oh i nearly was sick at the smell of the mcdonalds food. its been over a year since we gave it up and i don't miss it. however, the american food, not sure why this is, smells different anyways, every single person sitting around us was eatting it!!!!!!!!! gross! there was so many good food places in this terminal (if there was a place to get stuck its this place) heck the pizza we had was like fancy pizza (if there is such a thing) wolfgang puck pizza, nice.

so we got on the plane and lets say it wasn't a smooth ride. i was in tears, more so due to lack of sleep, food and overall tireness of the days event, so the extreme bumpy flight wasn't helping me calm down. all i wanted was to be on the ground. we got to watch the new charlie and the chocolate factory, it was pretty lame. since the flight was 4 hours, they always let you buy these 5$ food boxes, and ken was starving and asked and oh they don't serve them on late flights. argh. i had some potato chips in my bag and he snacked on that but we were both ready to jump out of the plane. i hate flying at night because i can't see anything and thats scarier i think. kens hand could be seriously crushed from my grip.

so we landed at 11pm and got through customs fast since the airport was empty, and headed to baggage claim. well, there was a bag jam and we had to wait another 20 mins. lol, it was getting funny at this point. lucky our bags were some of the first off, and we ran to get a cab to go home. cab driver was really nice, and was talking about how the snow had started falling earlier that night. it was really pretty, big flakes filling the sky. i think it helped ease my tension.

so we are home and happy! I don't want to be on a plane for awhile....

Sunday, November 27, 2005

And so the trip ends...

Tomorrow we are flying home, its strange how time flies when your having a good time. The past few days were filled with lots of visiting family and friends and going to Michigan attractions. I wanted to post pictures during our time away but due to stupid technical issues I was unable to do so. I will be posting lots of great things once we are back home. This has been a very memorable trip for us and will be for some time. Lots to be thankful for this american thanksgiving indeed.

Got to see Jeff and Marie today as well as Steve. Nice to see the newlyweds are happy and well. They have been busy with house renos.

Today was Mom's birthday and we celebrated by doing dinner at this great resturant called the Memphis Smoke. Food was sooooooo good. It was a blues and bbq type place, and I got to try sweet potato fries. YUM.

Dan and Ken have been watching Family Guy and old home movies. They may be older now, but nothing has changed with these two. Heheh.

Looking forward to being home in my own bed, I miss it. Also want to see my brother and his new fiance Jo! I am so excited that I am finally getting a sister. The wedding is August 26th, 2006. The engagement party is this weekend, so much fun will be had.

Well, I will sign out until we return to Canada, my home and native land!

Happy Thanksgiving...the USA version

Well, we had a great day. Lots of stuff happening and lots of cold wind and snow to top it off. We rolled out of bed and had a rather small breakfast since we missed most of the free breakfast stuff. Managed to get some cereal and the guy cleaning up managed to find us each a banana and a fresh doughnut. I tell you all now that American doughnuts are PURE SUGAR!!! Seriously, this stupid thing was soooo heavy, i had one bite and shook from the sugar rush. Yuck. Needless to say I refused to eat anymore.

Also, discovered that in American hotels, if you leave money in your room, like on the desk or night stand, the cleaning ladies think its a tip. Ken left a $5 bill on the desk, forgetting to put it in his wallet after going to the drink machine the night before. When we returned our room was cleaned REALLY nicely. I was surpried, then discovered the bill was gone. LOL. Oh well, they can use it more than us.

Tonight, was the big dinner at Aunt Nancy and Uncle Bill's place. A good number of the family made it out so Ken got to visit with lots of cousins. Took some great pictures and I will post them when I get the chance. But we had a wonderful dinner and I am full.... until my regular dinner hits...which is soon. ugh. I feel so bad because we get all this wonderful food but its more like lunch to us. Sigh. Expect a late night taco run tonight. Heheh.

Ken's friend just arrived for a late night visit so I will bring this update to a close. So Happy American Thanksgiving! Yay!

We Arrived!

So we made it to Michigan alive and well. Its not too cold yet but it has just started snowing, so that could change things.

Interesting experience at the airport, but I am going to let Ken tell that one. Heheh. But overall good flights, no problems and smooth connections.

Ken's grandma gets in to town today, yay. We are going to be setting up the Christmas tree soon too, so I will keep this brief for now and will write more once we have gotten out of jet-lag state.

Final countdown...

We are leaving soon, a few hours. Just need to get through today, then we will be flying away....

So much is happening, life is never boring, thats for sure. Spent most of the weekend around Ladner with Nana and Aunt Penny. Got to go to some bazaars, found some more dishclothes, woot. Also found a great stocking stuffer for Ken. But since he reads this I can't share what it was. Trust me, he is gonna love it.

Saturday morning I got a pedicure, so relaxing. My toes look like little cranberries. Hee. I haven't been in awhile so it was very refreshing. It always makes my feet feel so good. Ahhh.

Still not feeling very great. Trying to get myself together before we leave. Nothing worst than being ill on a plane. Ugh. Found out what movie we are gonna get to see on the plane, and its one I haven't seen. Bonus!

Yesderday, Andrea came over for some instructions, she is house sitting for us while we are gone. I like knowing there is someone there taking care of things, collecting the mail etc. I need to pick up some lightbulbs tonight, I saw one burnt out and I do believe that I am out of that particular bulb. Thats the strange thing about our place. All the bulbs are the same in the whole place, except the eatting area one. Why is that? Its rather annoying but what can you do. I guess buy more bulbs.

I saw some little green sprouts in my garden. So my bulbs are waking up, perhapes too early... the weather was warmer than usual this fall. Still its refreshing to see new life already. My garden is going to be wonderful and so pretty.

I plan on keeping my blog updated while away in Michigan. Posting some pictures of the Thanksgiving celebrations, yay turkey! I really am looking forward to our time away. Should be very exciting. Found this pic, I'm sure this is how it is on Sesame Street at Thanksgiving. Heheh.

I'm hoping the fog lifts soon. I heard some planes aren't able to take off and that freaks me out a bit since we have a connection flight to make in Chicago. So I am praying it goes smoothly.

I made a to-do list last night, lots of cleaning and junk. I need to drop off some more of our greeting cards at Fancy This Gifts today as well as deposit and get out some cash for the airport.

I still can't get over the fact we will be gone a week. However, it has worked out that it is the best time to be away at the moment. Need some time to chill before Christmas. The moment we get back things get really busy. I have another Photo Montage Video I got hired to do, a 40th birthday one. As well as everything else I'm doing work wise. Also, I am hosting the coffee group on the friday, so I want to decorate for Christmas. Whee. That weekend is also the meeting of Jo's family with our family. I have this feeling more could be announced at this party. Lets just say Mike and dad are terrible at lying. So I will see if my woman's senses were correct. LOL.

Ok, time to get to work, my next post will be coming to you from Michigan!

Wednesday, November 16, 2005

Blah...

Ugh, not feeling well today at all! Really hoping I'm not getting sick right before we are to leave for Michigan. Argh. Ended up falling asleep on the couch last night, and since Ken went to bed early didn't realize I wasn't in bed until this morning. He came downstairs and was like 'there you are." I kept falling asleep yesterday, so I guess my body needs the rest.

I've been busy stitching an ornament for the exchange on the cross stitch board. woo! Its looking good and I hope to finish it today. Depends on how I feel... argh.

Gonna be seeing Kyle tonight at Nana's. He is in town this month for work. Glad we get to touch base with him before we leave.

I can't believe we are leaving early Tuesday!!! Man the time flies. I wonder if there will be snow?

Ok, my headach is back, I am gonna go lie down. Blah!

The sky is falling!

Can't believe its Monday already. That long weekend sure went fast. Maybe because it was jammed pack of exciting events and activities. Its funny how as a kid the days are so long and as an adult they are short. Weird....

Friday, was mostly a day of relaxing and remembering. It was pouring rain and since we had already been sick once this year, we decided to stay warm inside and watch the ceremonies on tv. Watching the faces of the young and old, gathered together to mark such events in history, is overwhelming. Both my dad's parents served and so I will always remember them on days like this.

Saturday, I had made a date with Beth and Katie to go down to "Circle Craft" at the Vancouver Convention and Exhibition Centre. It was a bit mucky out, but it was still fun to get out to the city again. I realized that I really don't miss it. The noise, the people, the cars.... its just too loud for the country girl. Hehe. Nice to visit though.

The event was alot of fun, did sooooooooo much walking that I have some pretty nasty blisters on my feet. Ugh. I managed to finish the christmas shopping there, as well as pick up a lovely stainglass, dragonfly moble for our future nursery. I'm always on the look out for orginal things, I don't want the typical baby room.

This is a picture from their website. Our moble has a blue, green and white dragonfly. Each color its own meaning (they had a card there with all the meanings on it) and I selected colors especially for a new child. Kinda like a little prayer or wish for them. Like that scene in Sleeping Beauty with the fairies giving her gifts. These are my hopes for our furture child.

Blue:

It was fun to see Katie and Beth for a few hours and enjoy christmas stuff. If you get the chance to go to this event next year, I highly recommend it!

Sunday was a busy morning with church events. I was busy with our kindergarten class and Ken was with his older group, directing the drama. After the service I had to run and help with the christmas brunch ticket sales and then back to help with the taping of the interviews for the ministry video I'm building.

When we got home and had a simple lunch, Ken suggested we got to see "Chicken Little" and have dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory with our lovely gift certificates Katrina and David gave us for making a photo video for their summer wedding. So we checked the show times and headed out for a 345pm show.

I wasn't sure if we were going to like it but we were pleasently surprised and I even shead a tear in a scene. It was a great film and we spent time yaking about it over dinner. Yum. We came home and started a joint review on Hollywood Jesus. Check it out if you have time. Then we crashed in bed around 1030pm and tried to keep warm. It was WAY cold last night. Ugh.

Today, I have been working on the minisry video. Its coming along well. I am really pleased with it thus far. Was having some sound issues, blah. Tonight is the meeting at the church to discuss progress. So I should sign off and countinue, eh?

Remembrance Day

For our king and our country and the promise of glory
We came from Kingston and Brighton to fight on the front line

Just lads from the farms and boys from the cities
Not meant to be soldiers we lay in the trenches

We'd face the fighting with a smile - or so we said
If only we had known what danger lay ahead

The sky turned to grey as we went into battle
On the fields of Europe young men were fallin'

I'll be back for you someday - it won't be long
If I can just hold on 'til this bloody war is over

The guns will be silent on Remembrance Day
There'll be no more fighting on Remembrance Day

By October of 18 Cambrai had fallen
Soon the war would be over and we'd be returnin'

Don't forget me while I'm gone far away
Well it won't be long 'till I'm back there in your arms again

One day soon - I don't know when
You know we'll all be free and the bells of peace will ring again

The time will come for you and me
We'll be goin' home when this bloody war is ended

The guns will be silent on Remembrance Day
We'll all say a prayer on Remembrance Day

On Remembrance Day - say a little prayer
On Remembrance Day

Well the guns will be silent
There'll be no more fighting
Oh we'll lay down our weapons
On Remembrance Day

In Flanders Fields

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead. Short days ago
We lived, saw dawn, felt sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up your quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

WHOA!

Its offical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My hubby is gonna be an author! We got the email just a few moments ago, and I think we are both in shock! Its so crazy and yet such a God thing!

The book is going to be about Stop-Motion Animation. A topic that Ken lives and breathes. Its sort of a funny story how this happened. Ken was contacted by a lady from Thomson Course Technology. She had found his bio on the VanArts website and saw he taught stop motion. They wanted to do a book on it because of the recent films like Wallace and Gromit and Corpse Bride.

So that started the emails. Then they talked early one morning, because of the time difference, about building a proposal to take to the board. She sent the template and Ken works hard last week building one impressive proposal. He mailed his reel to show as well at the meeting.

That said, meeting happened today.....we had such a hard time falling asleep last night. We knew it was out of our hands and whatever happened would be what was laid out for us. So at 11am this email arrived....

Hi Ken,

I wanted to send you a quick note and let you know that the editorial board meeting went very well, and we’re geared up to do a stop-motion animation book with you, so congratulations!

I am out of the office tomorrow but back at it Monday, so let’s get together and talk contract and details and stuff next week. Sound ok?

Thanks again for submitting such a solid proposal. Everyone was blown away.

Cheers

So numerous emails and calls are happening at the moment. EEK! This means lots of work for the both of us. They want to have everything ready for the presses in early summer. I'll be helping with research and photos, and overall wife support. :)

Today is a special day for us, we will remember this one for a long time!

The saga of the volvo...

I really miss the days of car free living, but with my new role of working from home, we knew it was time for the wheels. We lucked out in September, not sure if I ever mentioned this, but my dad was buying a new car (surprise another volvo) and was looking for a new owner for his 92' one. Needless to say it worked out and the newest member of our family is Tank. I call it that because, lets face it, old volvos look like tanks. No one is gonna crush my tank. Hehehe.

So things have been pretty smooth thus far. Only a brief leak in the tire, that was fixed no problem. Problem getting the face plate back on the CD player, a few tries later it was fine. However, last night was a whole new can of worms. We went to take the car to Bible study and the alarm, which I was under the assumtion, no longer worked, proved in fact it indeed did work. So we are looking at each other with the what exactly happened look. We managed to get it stopped, don't ask me how, I still believe its a fluke.

Talked to papa this morning and he came over with pal Dave and they worked on the car. Not entirely sure at this point what the deal is but some sort of issue with the battery, not sure how that works the alarm but they said it was wired to it so maybe thats a clue. So they ended up taking over to the shop to work on it and I feel better knowing they know whats wrong. Should be back later tonight if everything goes well.

As for everything else these days. One word - BUSY!!! I am in the midst of getting things together for our Michigan trip (land of the huge tire) which is approaching at a rate I didn't dream it could. Need to finish gifts asap!!!

I am also apart of the Campaign team at church for the new ministry center. Woot. I have taken on the role of Multi-media coordinator, so I have been working on editing a presentation piece that will be shown soon. So the phone has been ringing a lot these days and meetings are filling the calendar. I am so excited to be part of this team, I believe in this project so much and its so great to be part of something that will be in the church's history forever.

On top of that my graphics work, which thank goodness for now is in a hold as I wait for the data to be delivered. I did hear back and the client loved the newsletter so I am totally pumped! Yay. Its been fun doing stuff for the Cancer Prevention site, especially since both Ken and I are big supporters of cancer research. The HIV database that I also have been working on, building the layouts, is also in data phase. Waiting for data is sometimes boring but with so much keeping me on my toes I don't notice much.

Our sunday school class has been wonderful. Its so sad to think we will be away for one week. I am gonna miss them so much. We are starting to teach them stuff for the christmas show. Ken is helping with the drama portion so for the next few weeks I am flying solo in the classroom. Its not bad, but means less crafts involving glue, LOL. I got a sub booked this morning so I am feeling better knowing one more thing is off my to-do list.

The newest edition of the Hollywood Jesus books just came out. Click here to see and buy one if you want. Ken has 2 articles published in this one. I am so proud of my boy! He may even get the chance to write a stop-motion animation book. We are still in negotiations so once its a done deal I will share the great news!

So in closing of one of my largest blogs in awhile, I say this. God's blessings have been raining down in our lives. With ministry, work and play, it has been quite a wild few months. To all my friends reading this, I hope to see you all soon once the extreme craziness ends. Maybe some December visits?
If you can believe the calendar is slowly getting filled already. Eek. So I hope to touch base with you all soon.

Love you all! Jay over and out!

Reaching out

So yesterday was the offical shopping trip for the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes and the Single Moms Ministry. Both are areas that we always donate to, because of our love for kids.

The shoeboxes get filled with school supplies, hygene items, toys and hard candies. I get such a rush out of putting these kits together for a special boy and girl that I will never meet. Something cool about knowing I can make someone smile and they won't ever know my name. I think thats what I like the most. I don't need a thank you because its not about me, its about the idea of giving to someone else.

We also pick a boy and girl from the single moms list and buy a toy for the Christmas party they will have. I never was in a situation growing up where I only had one parent. I was very blessed and I am thankful. When my mom died when I was 20, it really hit me what life could have been for me if I had been a child when this happened. I miss her the most at Christmas, perhapes this is why I try and do so much at this time of year.

The gifts and boxes are ready to go out. I kinda wish I had our tree up so I could put them underneath until they got dropped off.

Its offically 2 weeks today until we leave on the plane for cold Michigan! I see the pile of things still not yet done and it makes me a little scared. I know it will come together, but I have so many things on my plate these days. I was working on the video for the church this morning. Was getting a little nervous that I didn't have everything I needed and then the phone rang and Linda was on the other end. She is the interviewer for the stories and so I had to laugh and say what a God thing that you called. hehe.

So I think I will work on some gift stuff and prepare for tonight and Bible Study. Its a rainy day, not that exciting and not really a day to go out in.

Annual Christmas Bazaar

Today was the annual barzaar at the Catholic church in town. Oh, how I love this event!!! I have been going for years, and it is one of the big events I look forward to marking the begining of the christmas season!

Got some cute craft items, a lovely folk art santa, a snowman, some new dishclothes and my favorite slipper booties. Also picked up 2 frozen apple pies for Ken, his favorite! Then I joined Nana, Kitty and Delores for tea. I think they have the best fancy sandwiches there, oh they were amazing as usual! Why must it only be once a year?

Saw Julie's mom and got to chat with her for a bit, as well as my old elementary school secretary. Also saw Wendy with the girls, one of them wasn't in the best mood, time for lunch I guess. Hee. There were a lot of people as usual but it felt even busier than I remember.

Tonight we are having company for dinner, woot! Corene and Toby are coming over as well as the new Youth Pastor, Dan. I think Ken is planning to pull out the 'Scene It' game tonight since both Dan and Toby are movie buffs. Might make for an interesting game for once, since Ken usually kicks serious butt whenever we play. (Probably why we don't play much anymore. Heh)

So the house is clean, dinner is ready to pop into the oven at 5pm and I am somewhat chilling until Ken gets home. He took the car today so he could get home faster. Yay!

Oh, I found out Delores is putting her Christmas decor up starting next weekend.... oh I am so all over that!!!! So expect numerous pics as the boxes get pulled out and I begin my favorite time of year.

Cold....so very cold...

Well, it seems our baseboard heating decided that it wasn't going to work today...argh. A call has been placed to the super of our building but until then I have several layers of clothes on. Its so weird how things just stop working. The heat was fine yesterday, why suddenly is it not? This same event happened last year. Always on the coldest day it seems, blah.

In other news, been full speed ahead on christmas gift making, woot! Trying to finish the cross stitching so I can focus on the sewing them into ornaments part. With the date of our trip drawing near, I feel the pressure to finish.

Got a neat idea for gift tags this year. I am going to cut up last years christmas cards we received. I found them this morning cleaning up and it makes me feel better than just throwing them out.

Things look pretty good! Yay for my life! Hehehe.

So, last night was pretty quiet. We never get trick or treaters in our townhouse complex. Blah. I lit the pumpkin and made pizza and crashed on the couch till Ken got home. We then did the regular Monday night TV viewing, then went and worked on some of the proposal stuff for the book he may get to write. Very exciting.

Today is a new month! ACK! Kinda weird how fast the days go by. We are leaving in a few weeks for Michigan and Turkey days, aka Thanksgiving the sequel. The hotel was booked on the weekend and we set up a housesitter so all thats left is finishing all the christmas gifts that we will be taking so we can save by not mailing them. :)

Its pretty nasty outside today, think I will stay inside at all costs.

Burning down the house....

Well.... at 1230am I awoke to a ringing sound.... at first I thought we had left the tv on or something.... once I grew more awake I realized it was the fire alarm from outside. I ran to the window and saw a few neighbours heading outside. At that moment the only thing in your mind is GET OUT NOW! I called to Ken and we grabbed a blanket and our cel in case we needed to call 911. Saying a quick prayer, I had to leave this one in God's hands.

Once outside our old neighbours told us that the place next door smelled of smoke and they called the fire department. Sure enough you could hear the sound of them coming and we settled in for what could be a long time.

The building manager quickly was knocking on doors getting people out, this was serious.... Over minutes, yet what seemed like forever they had pulled out a man and went in with the hoses. We could smell a thick smoke, like burnt plastic.

A short time later we saw them pull a stove out of the apartment. Apprently, the fellow left a pot on the stove, the handle melted and before he could do anything the smoke of the plastic knocked him out. That shook me up a bit indeed. The door to this guys apartment is the wall of our bedroom. Makes you hit your knees in thank you to God for protecting us.

We are inside again, very much awake and most likely won't sleep very well tonight. Smells a bit so I have the fan on but I might have to get some of that "make your house smell fresh" stuff tomorrow. Took a picture of the remains of this guys stove. Scary stuff! Outside I heard so many people talking about how they had no insurance.....GET IT! This should be a wake up call to those people. I hope the man is ok, I thanked our firefighters before heading in...I'm shaking but ok. Nana of course is really upset I think, but we are ok, God took care of us. Amen!

Pumpkin Carving 101

Last night Ken and I carved our pumpkin for the fall season. He turned out pretty good, Ken is a pro with a pumpkin. Of course I do the icky work of scooping out the "brains" and then he does the actual carving but it works out in my books.

During the carving we watched "Its the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown." Always a classic during an event such as this. I'm not into the whole halloween thing but since Ken enjoys it I will go along for the ride to a point. I am looking forward to lighting the pumpkin that night, love my candles, hehe. He looks pretty good lit up, don't you think?

Today was the meeting after church about the building. It was long but interesting and we voted today. 86% in favor of building the new wing, so thats very exciting!!! The church was planted in 1979, so it's as old as me! I remember the ground breaking ceremony and how it didn't make much sense at the time as a kid, now years later, grown up, married and as an adult in the same church, I see how that time must have been like for the people then. I look forward to the new phase of my church, what an exciting year 2005 has been!

Fabric Junkie

Well, Stella and I went on a fabric mission today and needless to say we suceeded. Whee! Look at all the pretty materials I got for stuff. I think I got everything on my list.

-material for 2 table runners
-flannel for the back of my large quilt
-material for 2 wall hangings (I did cross stitch pictures and wanted to quilt the outside boarders)
-material for a christmas table cloth. woot
-tons of ribbon for the ornaments I'm making

We stopped at Landsdown for lunch and some shopping and who comes up behind me but Christy!!! First time I have seen her since she got back, so that was a nice surprise. Need to have a get together soon.

Got some stocking stuffers for Ken and then we headed home, and I am very tired. However, we are going out again to the movies tonight. Ken wants to see Wallace and Gromit so I'm off the hook for dinner. heheh.

Also wanted to share my pumpkin wall hanging, whee. I am starting to get the hang of this quilting thing! Will post all my projects as I finish them, stay tuned!

The "needs" game!

The needs game. You type your first name and needs (both in one set of quotation marks) into your search engine of choice, and list the first ten things that you apparently need, its pretty funny.

Janet needs to put in another wedding in the books

Janet needs some cream for her coffee

Janet needs to be mock-attacked by a skinny white boy to try to inject some interest in her career

Janet needs to warm up her Smore maker cuz there is going to be a cook-off

A muffin a day!

Starting to feel a bit more like myself today. I hate being sick, blah!

Did some work on my muffin drawings, thanks to Kara. She wanted the dancing muffin so I got busy and finished it. So now its available in our store, woot! Click here to see

Isn't she cute? I think so, heheh.

Sick as a dog....

Thanks to Ken, I am now extremely sick. Blah! Just the plain old flu but I think its harder when both of us are sick. Makes it hard to care for the other. I fell asleep on the couch this afternoon for a few hours while ken was asleep in the bed. For some reason I love sleeping on the couch, its cozy! The only draw back to afternoon naps are the weird feelings I have waking up suddenly.
My whole body is aching and I have that prickly feeling. ugh, not fun.

But, as they say the show must go on and I had to drag myself to the computer and work on my layouts I was hired to do. I got those emailed off so I feel better knowing I don't have to do anything until I hear back from the company.

Ken just went out to pick up something for dinner. Needless to say neither of us should be cooking and as much as I tried to prepare something, it wasn't going well. I don't understand how one's body won't work when sick. Ken said for me the worst part of being sick is the fact I can't do anything. He is soooooooooooooo right. I am a person who is constantly on the go, to have that taken away is terrible.

I'm hoping I can sleep through the night, last night was maybe a total of 2 hours sleep. Guess thats prep for when we have a baby, hehe.

As for now I am going to return to my couch of comfort. Ahhhhh.

Home Again

Well, we got home at 930pm last night, tired but happy. Our little two day get-away was wonderful, in spite of the brief rain in day 2.

Started monday off with breakfast in bed and watching some made for tv movie about Annette Funicello, hehe. We checked out of the hotel at 1030am and went for a drive along the coast. The houses along there are so cute and whimsical. Its fun to point out different ones and say "lets live there!" The rain was coming down pretty hard at that time so it was difficult to go out and take pictures of the water. Oh well, next time.

At noon we arrived at the Empress Hotel for tea! Its such an amazing experience, the people, the food and the setting make it so special. Its so funny we always end up at our same table too. We laugh about it how our pictures are always so simlar because of our placement. The warm tea was good on such a cold afternoon.

Once tea was finished we drove to Butchart Gardens. WOW. It was simply amazing! Around every turn was a more amazing sight. I think we took over a hundred pictures, it was fun to really try out the new camera in such an awesome setting. The rain finally stopped around 2pm and the sun came down and really warmed us and brought the fragrance of the flowers out. I think the flowers were more stunning after the rain so we really got a treat. We hit the gift shop and got a spoon for my collection and a present for Ken's mom for either her birthday or christmas, haven't decided yet.

We then drove around some more, checked out some of the small towns, took some more pictures and then made our way to the ferries. We arrived early enough to score some kettle corn at the terminal and saw the huge pot they make it in, sweet! Found a present for Nana and Papa and then got on the boat, which was PACKED.

We had dinner at the Buffet and got our fill of turkey, stuffing, potatoes, salmon and mussels. Poor Ken at this point was really feeling sick and so stuffed up. He ended up being up most of the night and stayed home from work today. Hope he feels better soon, Nana is making him some chicken soup for dinner tonight.

So I give this trip a big thumbs up for fun, it was great to spend some good old fashion time together. I love my sweetie!

On Vacation

Well we made it to Victoria for are quickie get-away. Weather has been holding its own, somewhat cloudy and dark but the rain has yet to put a damper on things.

We had a fun time visiting my favorite christmas shops and getting ken's photo taken in the mountie outfit - heheh. As usual, we had our favorite dinner at Chandlers resturant, ohhhh yum! I told nana that lobster was the new turkey this year. It was lovely to have a romantic dinner with my sweetie. Unfortunatey, Ken has been fighting a cold and this morning woke up with a stuffy nose, blah.

Today, we are off to High Tea at the Empress Hotel and then Butchart Gardens. We have never been there and we thank Stella for the free passes!

Later this evening we will go home on the 7pm boat. We are going to have a turkey dinner on the ferry, in the buffet, looking forward to that.

I think Ken might be taking a sick day tomorrow if he doesn't perk up....

Overall, no matter how quick a trip is, I can not stress enough how great it feels to get away! November is coming soon as is our week long trip to Michigan. I think that place is growing on me. Just wish we didn't have to fly, haha. I love my ferry boats, ahhhh, west coast girl!

Married to a Canadian!

Well, its finally offical! My darling husband Ken is now a Canadian! WOOT! He has still kept his American citizenship as well, so he hasn't given anything up, just added to it. The ceremony was very touching. 94 people from 29 different countries, joined him saying the oath and became citizens. The emphasis was on the idea of joining a family, Canada is your home, your new adventure in life. It doesn't erase the past, but adds to your future.

I shed a few tears during the singing of O' Canada. Its hard for me to believe that this part of our life is finished. Ever since we were engaged to be married, the immagration factor has always been a factor. We went through the process of Ken becoming a Landed Immigrant, or fake Canadian as we called him. Last Novemeber we started the process of citizenship and its over in less than a year. Very cool!

After the ceremony we had lunch at White Spot, where Ken had a BC burger, lol. We went to Ten Thousand Villages and spend most of our gift certificate. Got some neat treasures! Came home and had some yummy leftovers and watched some good reality TV. I fell asleep on the couch and Ken had to wake me up. It was a long day, but it has been one of the best!

Failing isn't fun...

Argh.....needless to say I thought I was pretty good at tests but for some wacky reason I haven't yet passed a pregnacy test. Better luck next time I guess, argh.

Ken is home and still feeling the jet lag, in fact we both went to bed at 9pm last night. He was asleep in minutes while I lay awake with a bad headache. I'm feeling better this morning....maybe I'll do some baking today.

This saturday is the Bruce Kuhn performance, should be fun. He will be doing the whole book of Luke, wow. Got a small taste a few weeks ago and it was fantastic. I miss going to the theater, its always fun.

So next weekend is Thanksgiving and Ken and I will be heading to Victoria. WOOT. Staying at our favorite hotel on the water, gorgous. Ken also made reservations at Chandlers, the best seafood resturant in our opinion. AMAZING! Our trip is also in celebration of Ken's upcoming Citizenship ceremony next week. YAY. At least Ken can pass his tests, prehapes I can pass mine next time.

Twas a fast week!

I can't believe its friday already. Geeze, where does the time go. Anyhoo, I pretty much completed the massive house clean!!! WOOT! oh and it looks good. I can't wait until Ken can see all the work I did. Only a few more days till he is home. I can't wait, I hate going to bed without him. I have been hugging his pillow all week, as a way of making it feel like there is someone there. LOL - Ken said I could dress it up in his clothes but that is just creepy. Heheh

Ken is having a great time in Ottawa. Him and Meeka are seeing all these cool animated films. Sigh, I wish I was there too. I'm holding down the fort though. We got notice that Ken's citizenship ceremony is happening on October 4th. YAY, how exciting that we hear that news when he is visiting the Capital, thats just funny!

I said on my deviant page I was planning a online web cartoon called 'Love Muffins' but the comics that have been drawn may not be posted. I have had a new idea and I think in a bit I can get it together pretty soon, its just a new direction. Here is a sample of the muffins, one especially for Ken and his becoming a canadian!

Well, I am going to veg out tonight. I'm so tired after all the cleaning. Gack!

One week

So Ken is leaving today for Ottawa. Sniff! He will be gone until next Monday. He is really looking forward to the Animation Festival, and I am so happy for him, but I will still miss him.....

This morning I cooked up some bacon and eggs for him with a huge cup of coffee. We sat and chatted, it was nice to have some quality time before he leaves. Last night we were up late packing all his clothes and stuff for the booth the school will have set up. I think we finally got to bed at 1130pm but then popped in a movie to fall asleep.

I ended up having nightmares of being chased by people with big guns. Kinda wierd, especially since we watch a family movie before bed. I must be stressed or eatting something that gives me odd dreams. I can't remember the last time I had a nightmare. Anyhoo....I woke up with an extremely sore throat. I found a fishermans friend pill and that helped.

Ok, the cab came and Ken is off to the airport. Have a good trip my darling!

I am left to finish the massive cleaning we started last week. I must admit, its looking really good. When he comes home its going to be a different house! WOOT!

Buying the test....

Yeah I know I bought it early but I am really giddy excited. Besides, Ken was with me and for some lame reason I refuse to buy a pregnacy test alone. Perhapes I feel the need for the cashier to see that I have a man and that we are getting this together. Gosh I have issues. LOL

In other news, we have been majorly clean sweeping our home. We finished pretty much the storage room and still have the office and future baby room to go. During the cleaning I found our lost Boppy the Monkey. I took this as a sign that I will get a positive on my test in a few weeks.

Why?

Well, when we were first married we thought I was pregnant and I was pretty nervous and scared. I just got married and I didn't think I was ready for a baby. So Ken went to the store and got a test and brought home Boppy. He said if it was positive then he was holding the baby's first toy. Needless to say it was negative and we decided that Boppy should be the way I would tell Ken we are expecting. Heheh. Yes we are weird but it makes it fun. So the thing is, Boppy has been missing since we moved into our new place 2 years ago and the fact we found him during the time we are hoping we are pregnant seems too perfect to me. Soooooooooo, if I am I will have the best story for the baby book.

Lets wait and see....

Time changes everything....

So I ended up having an interesting summer to say the least. Lots happened in the last month, the biggest one being that I have finished up working for the school. There is a lengthly story into this whole thing but I have said it sooooooooooo many times that its old news in my books. New adventures right?

I have started working from home as a contractor on various projects and I couldn't be happier. It was a hard adjustment at first, especially since Ken is still working at the school. However in the long run its the best for our plans as a couple...... starting a family!

Before you go nuts, no I am not yet pregnant, but we are in the stages of trying. Thats the fun part right, lol. Needless to say we are so excited for this new chapter and I plan to share the journey here.

So here is one of the last portraits we had done. We told the photographer that we were planning a family and that we would get a new portrait when that day came. She got a kick out of documenting the last of our childfree days. heheh.

So basically in a few weeks I will find out if we are going to be parents.... stay tuned!
