They brought it back this year, so I hope that means it will be back in years to come. I appreciated the trying new things the past few years, but this one is just so moving and symbolic. I was so excited to learn it was happening!
I tried to explain this rising thing to my son and he hid under our kitchen table HA HA, I wish he could experience religion at public school as I did as a child - my dad was in the military so protestant religion (althought for a while I took catholic ones by mistake until at report time they informed the teachers we were protestant, which I didn't know in grade 4) was a regular class for me until I went to public school in grade eight. At the same time, I've basically married an atheist, no chances in attending church here anytime soon I'm sure :oP The last time I went to church was in junior high on my own as my parents were never attendees either. I miss Easter and Christmas masses. :o(
