We are home after taking Ariel to her first movie! Oh it was so much fun and she LOVED it. Right after church we jumped in the car and headed to the theater. Surprisingly it was pretty busy there. Ken and Ariel went to order a pizza while I waited in a very short line for a VERY long time to get popcorn. Who knew the cash only line would move slower than the debit one? Weird. Then I get to the front and asked for the High School Musical bucket of popcorn and they say we only have this other one. Um its right behind you. No its not... um yes it is. Good grief. In the end Ariel has her bucket... the right one. Mommy fought hard for it. Hahaha.
Ariel was eager to get to the food, since it was lunch time, and once we got a booster seat we were all set. While we munched on pizza, Ariel enjoyed the ads on the screen. However when the lights dimmed she got a bit concerned. "Lights on?" she kept asking. Once the trailers started she was distracted and forgot about it.
She really liked the 'Bolt' movie trailer, the new Disney animated one coming out. Will have to look into that perhaps. Then the Disney castle logo came up to start the movie and Ariel yells out 'ARIEL'S CASTLE! IT"S ARIEL'S CASTLE!' Followed by, 'TINKERBELL!' The movie started and when the opening track started Ariel recognized it immediately from us playing it at home. She squeals 'MY SONG!' and starts bopping to the music.
For the most part she was entertained, sometimes the breaks between songs were a bit too long and she got a little lost. The moment someone was dancing and singing she was glued to the screen. During the ending and the whole 'musical' production she was on her feet dancing to the songs and would cheer and clap after every number. Needless to say people were pointing to her, giggling and smiling.
When the movie ended we headed on our way as Ariel carried her bucket (or purse as she referred to it as). It was a great experience and it will be a fun memory for us all.
Movie in review from us, it was cute. Story and dialog was simple and kinda cheesy, but the songs and choreography was awesome. I remember watching the first one with Ariel as a baby and how she was drawn to the music and later would bop along to it when we got her the soundtrack. Anyone remember this? Hee.
Well, time to cook up some dinner. Bye!

VERY cool! No doubt Ariel had a blast and was a bit of a show stealer with her cute antics :)
Oh my...how cute!! Ariel is such a little lady with her "purse". Very adorable!
And I love the video!
Aww, how fun, looks like she had a blast. :)
Love the "flash back" video, totally cute!
That's cute ;-) I belive that We're going to see Madagscar tomorrow. It's good that she liked the movie and the songs. My offer of coffee/chocolate still stands if you need it.
How fun! We took Braylee to see her first movie at literally almost the same age...she was just shy of 27 months. She loved it too...Dakota Fanning's Charlotte's Web. Brynna tagged along too, so technically it was her first movie too, but at 2.5 months, she slept or nursed during the entire movie! :) Braylee has been begging to go back to the theater (it's been at least 6 months since she's been), and I've been holding out until I thought Brynna was ready. She still is not really into TV/cartoons/movies. Love that you got her a memorabilia bucket too! We're hoping Santa brings the Tinkerbell movie too! ;)
Glad the 1st movie experience went well. Not sure how any of my girls would do in the theater... Sounds fun, tho.
