You give me fever

So last time I blogged Ariel had a fever. She ended up having it for about 2 days straight until it finally went down on Tuesday morning. Yay. Er, so we thought... shortly afterwards on Wednesday afternoon I noticed some spots on Ariel. Lifting her shirt reveled a light rash on her chest, back and neck. Turns out it was roseola, poor baby girl. What sucks is that I thought she was fine and had her little friend Carter over for a visit, so I really am praying it doesn't get it. Sigh. Especially since they are heading off to Europe this weekend.

Well, lets back track here a bit. So Monday was a holiday and Ken was home with us. With Ariel sick we didn't do anything much except hang out around here. Frankly, it was fantastic! It also marked Ken's 10 year anniversary of being in Canada! He moved up 10 years ago for school and planned to leave the following year, needless to say that didn't happen and here we are today. So what does an American, who is now a Canadian citizen as well want for his special dinner. Mexican! Woot! Hahaha. Made up some yummy fajitas and reflected on his 10 years here. Wow.

Tuesday came and with Ariel over her fever I had Erin and Carter come over for a play date. They had a wonderful time and we were able to give Carter his birthday gift since he will be away when he turns 2.

Carter was super sweet and shared some popcorn with Ariel. Her fav, 'op-corn' hehe.

I can't believe how much they have grown up....

... remember this?! Wow. They are so little, sniff.

Tuesday night I was camped on the couch watching the new 90210. Oh my gosh, such a guilty pleasure and I don't care! I loved it. Yay, can't wait for next week's episode. Oh, and the lead gal is from Canada, so there ya go. Gonna miss you on Degrassi!

Wednesday came and Ariel and I headed out to Richmond for the big baby sale at Gymboree. I had just cleared out all the summer stuff from her closet and drawer, so it was easier to see what we needed for fall. Picked up some cute things but ended up ordering the shirts online since they were cheaper in the US. So fashion show when they come in, and Ariel will be up to it then. With some of her birthday money we got 2 pairs of jeans, so things are looking good now that she has pants. Lol.

We also found some dance leotards for her ballerina class she is taking. They were such a great deal we were able to get both pink and black, and they will last a while since they are big on her. Just need to find some tights, and Stella mentioned a place I can look at, so thats good to know.
Of course we had to try out dancing in her new 'suit' as she calls it. I think because it looks like a swimsuit. Haha.

Step 1...

...step 2...

...step 3...

...step 4! Ta da!

How did I do Aunty Kara?

Dancing is hard work. Sigh.

This morning we had an early doctor's appointment for Ariel's 2 year old check up. Ariel wasn't too sure what she thought of that idea since she kept saying 'scared!' We arrived early enough so she could play with the toys. Her favorite is the McDonald's play set which is like the play kitchen. Anyone remember these?

When it was our turn we went to the room and Ariel sat watching the door for the doctor. Still not sure if this is a good visit... I think she remembers the shots still.

After doing the regular check up things, Doctor looked at Ariel's fading rash and agreed it was roseola. Sigh, so no BBQ with the preschool friends from church this weekend. The positive news was that it should be all cleared up for our trip, yay!

Now for the stats, Ariel is officially 24lb and 34in tall. So she is long and lean and yet has a big head. While her height is in the 75th percentile, weight in the 25th percentile, her head was in the 95th! I can't remember the number because I was floored she has such a big noggin. After all was said and done we left to go to Grandpa's for some pancakes. Ariel got a yummy sucker from the doctor, guess she isn't that bad eh? Hehe.

Had a nice visit with Dad and Rita while Ariel played. She enjoyed watching Grandpa swat bees. She is defiantly perking up more and her appetite is coming back. When we left we stopped at McDonalds for a treat and as we were leaving who drives by but Aunty Jo in her and Mike's new car. Woot! Nice guys.

While Ariel napped I finished the t-shirts I was making for her with my transfer paper. First off is her special shirt to mark her first Disneyland vacation. Yay!

The second, well, what can I say... Rainbow Brite is just COOL!

Ken is out late again tonight for work stuff, so another girls night. Well, Ariel is up so I better get dinner ready. Look forward to pictures this weekend of my hair update! Yes, I FINALLY made an appointment to get it done for our trip. Can't wait, haven't had it done in ages, and frankly I need it.

Glad to hear she is feeling better. Goodness, she IS long and lean, isn't she?! No wonder she looks smaller than Brynna in your pictures...Brynna probably weighs about the same, but she was only in the 20% for height at her 18 mo. visit. Brynna's wt is more compacted! ;)
Great job on the shirts!
