White Christmas? Looks that way! Crazy!

I don't think I can think of a year we had an actual Christmas with snow. The way it sounds is that we are expecting another snow fall too, so I guess unless there is a heatwave, we are keeping the snow. Woot. Ariel however, is ready to see it go. The poor girl slipped Tuesday coming from the car and wasn't impressed falling into it. Mind you she wasn't dressed in snow play clothes as we were coming from from swimming. Then today she slipped on some ice on our deck when we went out to take a picture. Well that just turned her completely off, but with it sticking around, she is going to have to make peace with it sooner or later.

Yesterday we had a date to visit Erin, Carter and new baby Brielle. Well wouldn't you know the snow is coming down in buckets. Well I wasn't passing up another failed attempt at getting together. So we did a quick walk to the post office to post a letter and an ornament that I made to send to one of my online mommy friends (we were having an ornament exchange).

It was a good chance to judge if we could safely drive. Although it was practically a white out, the roads were good, so we left once we got home.

It was nice to visit with Erin and meet her sweet little girl. Gosh, I forget that they come this small!

Ariel wasn't too sure what she thought of the baby... she kept checking her out.

'Hi Baby!'

Ariel and Carter had a great visit too, and played happily for the most part. Gotta love that 2 year old 'its mine' moments. Ariel really enjoyed Carter's fishing game.

Lunch time rolled around and Ariel and I headed home again. I look forward to another visit again soon, and I am sure Ariel is as well. My sweet girl, she really is a treasure, but I hope and pray we are able to add to our family in the new year. I long for a baby of my own again. I guess we shall see what the Lord has planned for us.

In the mail last night, along with another pile of cards (gosh I love fun mail) came a card with no return address. With delight, we discovered it was an invitation to the wedding of Graeme and Kalia. Such a lovely surprise, and we are honored to be invited. I use to babysit Graeme YEARS ago, amazing to think he is tying the knot (feeling old at this moment)! Kalia is the daughter of our worship pastor, and we are looking forward to celebrating their big day with them in February.

This morning was Ariel's last swim class. Woot! It has been fun but with the weather being so unpredictable, I almost rather stay at home. Nevertheless, we made our way out to swim and get Ariel's report card. When we pulled into the parking lot we got a surprise, 5 very large yellow school buses! Ugh, the pool was PACKED with kids. They had a small area roped off for our class, but you couldn't even hear yourself talk over the noise. Ariel wasn't thrilled and kept scanning the pool at all the kids.

Ariel looking WAY too grown up. Sniff.

Her impression of a teenager. Oh the things to come, ack!

In the time we were there, about 45 minutes, the whistle went 5-6 times, meaning person in distress. You would look over and see a kid being pulled out coughing up water. Ugh, kinda scary. We still managed to have a fun time, and got our report card. I am so impressed, Ariel did so well. Check it out, sorry, PPM (proud parent moment). Click on the image to make it bigger.

After class we stopped in to say hi to Lala at the store and show off the report card. Ariel then proceeded to help mop up the wet floor from snow. Such a helper. Had a nice visit and then headed home to change for the tea party at Nana and Papa's.

Ready to party!
(This is right after she slipped, I am surprised she let me take a picture. She is scared to fall again I think, see the deer in headlights look!)

Ariel got a little present from Aunt Penny and Uncle Bill, a cute ballerina ornament for her tree, she was thrilled! Thanks guys.

Then we went to the tea, and it was such a lovely set up. Live music, yummy treats and beautiful decor. Ariel was eager to have both juice and tea.

Chugging tea... guess we need to talk about being a lady, eh?

Then Santa showed up... gasp!

...but Ariel wasn't too sure about seeing him again.

Poor Santa, maybe next year. Haha. So that leads us to now, and we are waiting for Daddy to get home so we can have dinner. Tonight I will be painting again, only 3 pictures left, as 2 are done. These ones should hopefully go pretty quickly since they are simple illustrations. The big one took 2 days to get done, and I want to sew our pjs still, ugh! It will be a race till Christmas eve, but thankfully I have nothing else to do at this point, huzzah! Stay tuned to see if Jay can pull it off, or will her family be naked on Christmas eve? Hahaha.

Your mommy friend will be so happy to get such a pretty ornament! Handmade is the best too! No Christmases with snow?!! On Braylee's 1st Christmas, we had 22 inches! I'm hoping for snow this year too...always makes the holiday more fun. Good luck on finishing your projects!
