Father's Day Recap

I hope you all enjoyed the little video Ariel and I made for Ken. If you haven't seen it, look back at the last post. Anyhoo, got up around 730am this morning and stuck downstairs to make some waffles up for the special guy.

Brought them up at 8am and with perfect timing Ariel had just woken up too. So I got Ken eating and Ariel then performed her new trick that we had been working on for the past few week perfecting, and managing to keep secret from Daddy... needless to say, he was pretty surprise as you can see. Hee.

Then we gave Daddy a new shirt and a bag of his favorite 'buttered popcorn' flavored jelly bellys. Ariel was more interested in getting Daddy to share his waffle with her. She kept saying 'please, please' and pointing to it. Haha, at least she is polite. After breakfast we let Daddy see the video we posted, he was pretty moved and posted it on his blog too.

Then we headed off to church, and Daddy got a picture with his little princess.

A friend was nice enough to get one of our whole family. Yay!

After the service they had cake, Ariel was thrilled and managed to sneak seconds.

Following church, we stopped at Nana and Papa's for lunch. Bill and Penny had come in the night before (more on that later) and were leaving later in the afternoon.

Ariel avoided Uncle Bill at every chance she got, but we are working on her. By the end of the visit he was able to get her to take grapes from him.

Ariel seemed very attached to Aunt Penny, and even when coming over later for dinner was saying 'Penny' in the car, as if asking was she still here. Awe.

Today the sun finally came back! It was so nice out that Ken and I had our shorts on and managed to get a cute picture of us on the deck.

Dinner was combo night of Father's Day and Jo's birthday. We did something different and did appetizers. Oh man, was that cool! Sooooooooo much good food, this picture doesn't do it justice.

Yummy cake for dessert, notice Ariel is telling us that she wants some too. Cake is a very serious subject for her.

She actually went person to person getting handouts. Sneaky girl!

Now we are home and very full, ugh. But it was so worth it, hehe.

On Saturday, Ariel and I managed to get out for a walk. It was still a bit on the cold side, but it nice to just get out in the fresh air. My ears are still ringing a bit. Its so strange, its like I have been in a rock concert, but for 3 days now. Yuck. Ariel also turned 22 months that day, wow. 2 more months until she is officially 2! Crazy, totally crazy. It also marked the 3 month countdown to Disneyland. Hehe, yay. Later in the evening we joined Nana, Papa, Bill and Penny up at Dairy Queen for an ice cream treat! When we asked Ariel what she wanted, she replied 'Fries!' Big surprise, haha.

Ariel is making sure Daddy is still in sight.

Yummy fries! Snacking with Nana and Papa.

Ariel does manage to score some ice cream too, very tasty! If you want to be totally freaked, go check out the Dairy Queen website and find out the calorie count on your favorite treat. Yikes!

Afterwards we had a nice visit and came home for bed. So it was a pretty full weekend for us. I am looking forward to fun week with some nice weather finally! Maybe we will get to the water park? Time will tell... until then, bed time. Good night!
