4th Sunday of Advent

So today is the eve of Christmas eve... an eve eve as you will, or is that confusing? Hehe. Either way, we had a joy of sleeping in today, since there was no more early play rehearsals or nursery duty to do, yay. It was so weird laying there and going back to sleep. Ahhhh. We finally rolled out of bed at 9ish and left to arrive at church at 1015am, giving us time to visit.

One of the first people we saw was KARA!!! Yes, the ballerina returns! Yay. Ariel is still a little confused I think, but that didn't stop her from eating crackers while sitting on her lap during worship.

Another fun surprise today was some gifts from friends at church. We were given some lovely goodies, chocolates from Natalie and Peter as well as homemade caramel popcorn from Trev and Jen (and kids). Thanks you guys, that's sooooo awesome and will be part of our snackage during Christmas eve movie watching. Whee.

After the service, Nicole and Ariel had the 'Gymboree' picture moment. They didn't have matching dresses this year, but they still had the plaid in both, so it works.

When we got home, Ken called his mom to check in. His Yaya (Grandma) had fallen this week and shattered her arm and was having surgery today. Now Mom is leaving to travel up to see her on Christmas day in the afternoon. Please send some prayer their way for both Yaya's condition and the family who needs to make some serious choices about her living situation.

Afterwards, we started preparing for our company who was arriving at 3pm, Ken's co working Calvin, his wife Sylvia and daughter Nikki. We had a wonderful visit with them. I made some lasagna for dinner and even pulled out the 'Christmas crackers' for fun. We gave Nikki a webkin, apparently that was a huge hit and she was VERY excited.

Of course Ariel and Nikki made fast work of the hats, but creating a pile of confetti. Haha.

They also colored with some books Nikki brought for Ariel.

I must say, the girls really do love each other, awe!

In tonight's installment of cards from the past, I give you the introduction of Ariel! Yes, she is now a part of our cards officially. We went old fashioned with this one. (Ken is always looking for an excuse for wearing a top hat, hehe.) Only one more card to go, this year's one, which I believe most people should have now, so I can post it. I will be blogging most of this week, even though I know most of you aren't around at the moment, but you will have lots to read when you return.
